The main page of the messages section displays the same box of messages that appears on the main page for the board. However, there are now a few more options available. There is a navigation bar at the top center to allow you to see past messages/threads. There are also links in the upper right that will switch between the different threading types (date, flat, and tree), as well as one to post a new message (if you are a user or above on the board).
