If you are viewing messages using the Date threading type, then each message will show up separately in the messages table. There are no actual "threads" in this method, so all replies to messages will appear separately in the table. If you click on the subject line of the message, you can view the contents of the message, and there are links on this page to reply to the message or to post a new message if you are at least a user on the board.
